STEPHEN'S E.S.P. PARTY

"AN OUT & OUT SUCCESS"

With music blasting, a full buffet on display, and champagne corks popping everywhere, the Employees Service Party at Stephen's Saloon was in Manager David Rogers' words, "An out and out success." The party held on Monday, February 15, was the brainchild of owner Stephen Gnass to offer all employees of gay establishments in the Michigan, Ohio, and Ontario area half-price on all retail drinks at the 10 year old cruise bar located on Detroit's east side. The response was overwhelming, with bartenders, waiters, photographers, and staff members from METRA Magazine, as well as others from all over Michian and Ohio coming to attend the festivities and enjoy the special drink prices.

Stephen's, formerly known as Tiffany's has long been famous as a party bar with weekly packed-to-the-rafters crowds on Thursday for the 25¢ a mug beer fest and the celebrated Sunday champagne brunch and Crazy Daze where Sunday revellers from all over the state come to get "easy, sleazy, and oooh, kind of cheap."

In addition to the now popular Monday crowd, Stephen's also has plans to hold theatre cast parties in the future along with other special events. Currently in preparation are plans for the 11th Annual Anniversary party to be held March 15. So popular was this party last year that some were actually being turned away at the door. The staff promises to out-do themselves this year to make Stephen's 11th an unforgetable bash. If you've been looking for a pub to celebrate St. Patrick's Day, this is an absolute must.

PONTIAC'S NEW GAY BAR

"STUDIO 55"

If any of those football players at the Superbowl XVI looked unusually happy on the field, don't blame it on Studio 55. Not that being gay and professional sports. have anything in common. Right? The grand opening of Pontiac, Michigan's only gay bar was a great triumph for owners Chris and Jim, with a large, happy crowd which enthusiastically cheered the Metra staff who were in attendance for the February 13th party.

A congenial cocktail bar newly located in the North Perry shopping complex, Studio 55 offers 2-4-1 specials Monday and Tuesday, plus free champagne give-a-ways on Saturday. The Pontiac crowd is a friendly bunch (take my word; I was born and raised there) and according to Studio 55 owner Chris Bradley, the bar is now attracting a sizable Flint, Lansing and Bloomfield crowd looking for a change of pace from Detroit and their hometowns. For fun and relaxed atmosphere full of new faces, be sure to check out the all new Studio 55. Pontiac's never had it so good! Located in K-Mart Shopping Center at 55 S. Glenwood, 335-1550.

PICNIC'S IN TOLEDO?

Caesar's Palace, one of Toledo's most popular discos is proud to announce Picnic In The Park. This fun-filled potluck affair has been held twice now with overwhelming response from Toledo's party-hard fans. Traditionally held every third, Sunday of the month, owners Joe and Ray expect a real turnout for next month's picnic. As a great way to forget about winter, we encourage you not to miss this event.

Also stay tuned for the next performance of the Rocky Horror Picture Show held live every month at Caesar's.. Put on by local high school drama clubs called "Chicken & Guppies," it is just another reason why crowds are flocking to Caesar's. Don't miss it! Located on Madison Avenue, (419) 246-8318.
